POSTER DESIGNS 2023
[EN] With this project I wanted to explore two graphic illustration styles, one more minimalist and the other more organic, tech and futuristic (as in the one above). I sought to explore poster design, composition, typography, shape, color, semiotics in all pieces. As they are displayed below, I will explain a little of the idea behind the design of each one.
[PT] Com esse projeto quis explorar dois estilos gráficos de ilustração, um mais minimalista e outro, mais orgânico, tech e futurista (como no que se encontra acima). Busquei explorar o design de pôster, composição, tipografia, forma, cor, semiótica em todas as peças. À medida que forem sendo expostas abaixo, vou explicar um pouco da ideia por trás do design de cada um.
STYLE 01
COFFEE BREAKE
[EN] When I made this poster I was going through a very turbulent time and my days were very busy, both with work and studies. Amidst the exhaustion, I realized that coffee breaks were when I felt like I could breathe and relax, even if not for that long.
[PT] Quando fiz esse pôster estava em um momento muito conturbado e meus dias eram muito corridos, tanto com o trabalho quanto com os estudos. Em meio à exaustão, percebi que pausas para um café eram quando me sentia respirar e relaxar, ainda que não por tanto tempo.
AFFECTION
[EN] This poster also reflects a specific moment in which I realized the power of showing and receiving affection: it's the fire that keeps us warm and energized to move forward.
[PT] Esse pôster também reflete um momento específico em que percebi o poder de demonstrar e receber afeto: é o fogo que nos mantém aquecidos e com energia pra seguir em frente.
NO SMOKING
[EN] This poster is not about banning smoking in public spaces, in fact it is a provocation to smokers, which may, ultimately, make them rethink smoking. The objective here is to emphasize that smokers are aware of the harm they are doing to themselves and others around them, but still have the freedom to choose to do so.
[PT] Esse pôster não é sobre proibir o fumo em ambientes públicos, na verdade é uma provocação aos fumantes, que pode, em último caso, fazê-los repensar o fumo. O objetivo aqui na verdade é colocar em pauta que o fumante sabe dos danos que faz a si mesmo e aos demais ao redor, mas ainda assim tem a liberdade de escolher fazê-los.
SMILE AND CREATE
[EN] The more I create, the more I have reasons to smile.
[PT] Quanto mais crio mais tenho motivos pra sorrir.
STOP
[EN] I've thought a few times about stopping doing what I do because I'm not good enough yet, but this is all the more reason to move forward and learn along the way. The process is the most important!
[PT] Já pensei algumas vezes em parar de fazer o que faço porque ainda não sou bom o suficiente, mas essa é mais uma razão pra seguir em frente e aprender no caminho. O processo é o mais importante!
SIT DOWN
[EN] This is another reminder about taking breaks and the importance of knowing how to relax in order to remain healthy, both physically and mentally.
[PT] Esse é mais um lembrete sobre as pausas e sobre a importância de saber relaxar pra poder seguir saudável, tanto física quanto mentalmente.
TINY LITTLE ME
[EN] Thinking about death and the immensity of the universe has caused me existentialist anguish for many years. This poster is about that.
[PT] Pensar na morte e na imensidão do universo me causa uma angústia existencialista desde muitos anos. Esse pôster se trata disso.
ANXIETY AND INSOMNIA
[EN] Turning the lights off and on have been accompanied by anxiety and insomnia, the first before and the second after bedtime. This cycle of stress for a long time seemed to have no end in my life and, therefore, I wanted to talk about it.
[PT] Apagar e ascender a luz têm sido acompanhados de ansiedade e insônia, a primeira antes e a segunda depois da hora de dormir. Esse ciclo de stress por muito tempo pareceu não ter fim na minha vida e, por isso, quis falar sobre ele.
LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO NOT ENJOY THE VIEW
[EN] In the rush, we forget to appreciate the world and life simply passes by... So this is a reminder to enjoy the view more and to live in the present. That's why my window is now my main escape valve.
[PT] Na correria, esquecemos de apreciar o mundo e a vida simplesmente passa... Então esse é um lembrete pra que aproveitemos mais a vista e para que vivamos no presente. Por isso a minha janela é agora minha principal válvula de escape.
STYLE 02
LIFESTYLE
[EN] Lifestyle is a criticism of certain bad habits, some of which I practice myself, which end up becoming a widespread lifestyle.
PT] Lifestyle é uma crítica a certos maus hábitos, alguns eu mesmo pratico, que acabam por se tornar um estilo de vida generalizado.
SÓ UMA CADEIRA
[EN] The chair is one of a product designer's favorite objects, and as a designer I just wanted to ask about the semiotics of a chair and turned it into a poster.
[PT] A cadeira é um dos objetos favoritos de um designer de produto, e como um designer que sou quis apenas indagar a respeito da semiótica de uma cadeira e transformei isso em um pôster.
CITRUS
[EN] This is a character design based on lemons, but I took the opportunity to portray the overall citrus character and what defines it in this way.
[PT] Esse é um design de personagem baseado em limões, mas aproveitei para retratar o caráter cítrico no geral e o que o define desse maneira.
GARDEN
[EN] I was inspired by the conception of the garden in some literature as a place separate from the everyday dimension that surrounds us.
[PT] Fiquei inspirado pela concepção de jardim em algumas literaturas como um lugar separado da dimensão cotidiana que nos cerca.
SLINGSHOT
[EN] Again, I wanted to do a functional analysis of an object. In this case, the slingshot.
[PT] Novamente, quis fazer uma análise funcional de um objeto. Nesse caso, o estilingue.
[EN] This is a character design that I turned into a poster along with some information about ladybugs.
[PT] Esse é um design de personagem que transformei em um pôster junto com algumas informações acerca das joaninhas.
[EN] Another character design, this time based on bees and the pun bee who you want to bee.
[PT] Mais um design de personagem, dessa vez baseado nas abelhas e no trocadilho bee who you want to bee.
